![]() Honestly, I'd say either go IJN (though beware the Nagato: her armor is one of the worst in the game, tier for tier) or play the German with a survivability build. ![]() Montana's guns are also basically the smallest at T10, which can be a problem. USN DDs have very short-range torps until T7, sometimes not even enough to reach the opposite end of a cap their AA has been powercrept, the shell ballistics are awful, the fire chance pitiful finally, the long-duration smokescreens are often pointless if you're not in a division.įor a beginner, I'd rather recommend Pan Asian DDs (great smokes and you can stealth-torp much earlier), Pan European (good, then great AA a heal, good range and speed on the torps) or either Soviet line (great gun ballistics, a simple and fun playstyle on the gunboats and a lot of utility on the hybrids).įor BBs, I likewise think the American aren't good for beginners, since they're slow as hell until the North Carolina, and then they're very easy to citadel. Honestly, I think the standard "play USN and IJN lines first, they're the oldest/most balanced ones" advice is misleading. You may find Acasta a bit tricky at first (short torp range) but work on mastering that single torp ripple firing, it's hilarious and satisfying to get that right. German cruisers start off a bit iffy to begin with but are worth mastering as they get better higher up the Tiers when they become durable CAs.īritish DDs are not as heavy as other lines in terms of armament but they are as nimble as heck, they dodge well and have lots of smokes, so you can make mistakes and get away with them (some of the time). ![]() There is nothing very exciting about them to people with hundreds of ships in port, but also nothing very wrong, nothing to trip you up or be too gimmicky, and SAP always lets you do reliable damage. There is nothing wrong with the Italian BBs, as far as I can see. ![]() I would say: Italian/Soviet/French BBs, German /American Cruisers, Japanese/American/British DDs, and If I had to pick three, then Italian BBs, German Cruisers, British DDs. I like them too, but they're quite different from other DD lines (this is why I liked them). ![]()
